P_A_R_T_Y!

Chris over at Just a girl (which really should be Just a girl who does it all and then some...) is having a I can do that! party.

AND Antique Mommy is too!

Love, LoVe, LOVE this idea!

I found my idea here and loved it so much I made Halloween platters.

So easy. Creative. Fun!

Take a plain white plate, one that is ovenproof, I found mine at Wal-Mart for $3.47. Wash it, decorate it with permanent sharpie pens and bake it for 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Think platters, bowls, coffee mugs, plates!

I've hand-washed mine and didn't have any trouble with the ink coming off but GiBee at Kisses of sunshine suggested using Porcelain Paint Markers or ceramic paint pens at Michaels and AC Moore if you have any trouble.

Here is my Halloween one:

(the spider has since grown the correct amount of legs)

Thank you Chris, Kiss of Sunshine, and everyone else who is contributing!

Are you serious???? That's it??? It's that simple!? Where has this idea been all my life!? Do you have ANY idea how many of these I plan on making? Could I ASK any more questions? :) This is an awesome idea. THANK YOU!

Thanks for the link love.

I did have one reader who said her ink did not stay on the plate after she baked it. I have not had problems with mine, but if there is any question or doubt, you can always use Porcelain Paint Markers, which aren't that much more expensive.

Also, I've seen ceramic paint pens at Michaels and AC Moore (just can't remember the names).

I can't believe it is that easy!! My Dad is a coffee junkie and mugs from my two oldest boy's would be a cheap and easy project. Thanks for the great idea!!

SUPER, GREAT, and FABULOUS! I am so excited about your easy instructions. I love to make plates but thought I had to go to the pottery shop to do it. Not now!

Oh wow, I love the halloween plate! I'm not such a great drawer but this is a terrific idea if I can find something safe for my clumsy hands!

I just read your comment, and I cracked up! You're right--nuff said! I'm off to Michaels!

What a great idea! I'd definitely have to "practice on paper" before I put any artistic attempt onto the plate. But hum.... I'm thinking initial plates for special days... Thanks for the thought!
